FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

First, try to locate the burner Specification, or “Spec” Number. This can usually be found on a label on the burner body. We typically place a small label stating the SPEC# underneath the larger main burner nameplate label. Examples of Spec Number format:

Gas Burner Spec Numbers usually start with ‘6’, such as 65432D or 65432-001D

Oil Burner Spec Numbers usually start with a 3-digit number: 300-001BCD or 123-456ABC

If you cannot find the Spec Number, please try to locate the burner Serial Number. This can also aid in our researching your part needs.

Once you have the Burner Spec Number, just enter it into our search tool and your parts list will pop right up!

Wayne does not sell direct to the public. We maintain an outstanding list of distributors that support our burner products with more than just parts sales. We prefer that you contact your local distributor first, or one of the many online distributors that we have partnered with to best serve the public.

Find a Distributor

End-user warranty issues are not handled directly through Wayne Combustion Systems. Warranty claims must be routed through the OEM appliance equipment manufacturer in which the burner is installed, or through the Wayne authorized wholesaler or distributor through which the burner was purchased. This normally requires you to have the heating professional who installed the burner or appliance to contact either the OEM appliance manufacturer, or the wholesaler or distributor from whom they purchased the burner or appliance. Both the burner's Specification Number (Spec #) and its Date Code must be determined for warranty consideration. Refer to separate FAQ's on Specification Number (Spec #) and Date Code determination should you require further assistance determining those two pieces of information.

The Date Code is indicated on a label bearing the heading Date Code (16201 will also appear along the right edge of this label). The 4-digit number imprinted on the label is the date code. The first pair of numbers represents the week of the year of manufacture. The second pair represents the year of manufacture. Refer to your owner's manual for complete Wayne Combustion Systems warranty details.

Attempting to clean and reuse an oil burner nozzle is not recommended. Trying to lengthen the service life of a nozzle by cleaning it may result in worse performance than before the cleaning. Oil burner nozzles are comprised of very close-tolerance machined components, yet are relatively inexpensive. A refurbished nozzle may appear to be clean, but the filter will likely remain contaminated internally. Is it worth the time and effort to clean a nozzle to find, after the fact, the flow rate and/or spray pattern have been adversely affected? Your efforts will likely have been wasted and you will still be faced with purchasing a nozzle and repeating the teardown, reassembly and burner set up process. IMPORTANT - Never touch the face or filter of an oil burner nozzle with your bare hands. Oil left on the nozzle face from your fingers can impact the spray pattern and oil on the filter can affect oil flow.
